IN MEMORIAM
At this Roundtable we will be remembering two scholars who have made very significant contributions to the IACL: former First Vice-President of the IACL, Professor Héctor Fix Fierro, and former Secretary General Professor Lidija Fleiner.
Professor Héctor FIX FIERRO
Between 2006 and 2014 Héctor Fix Fierro was Director of the Institute of Legal Research of the National University of Mexico. As such, he was the leading figure in organizing the IACL’s eighth World Congress of Constitutional Law that took place in Mexico City in 2010. Moreover, he was a First Vice-President of the IACL. Beyond his qualities as a scholar, Héctor Fix Fierro was a considerate, generous and thoughtful person. He will be dearly missed by his friends, colleagues and students all over the world.

Professor Lidija BASTA FLEINER
As Secretary-General of the IACL, Professor Fleiner provided sterling support to the Association and made a highly valued contribution to our work. Lidija also served in a range of other roles during her career, including as Head of the Expert Group to draft a new Constitution for Serbia and the constitutional foundations for the common state of Montenegro and Serbia (2000-2001). She represented the best qualities and aspirations of the IACL and her recognition as the first life-member of the IACL in 2007 was a tribute to her decades of valuable service and commitment.
