This Roundtable brings together 50 speakers from 5 continents, including research and policy leaders as well as emerging voices.
IACL Leaders
The Roundtable will include a number of leaders from the Association itself, including a welcome by President, Professor Adrienne Stone, and Executive Committee members Professor Bertrand Mathieu and Professor George Katrougalos. We will also be taking the time to mark the passing of two pillars of the Association: former Secretary-General, Professor Lidija Fleiner, will be memorialised by Professor Cheryl Saunders (President Emeritus of the IACL), and Professor Héctor Fix Fierro, XXXX, will be memorialised by Professor José Maria SERNA (Member, IACL Excecutive Committee).

Distinctive Perspectives
All speakers have been selected for their distinctive perspectives, in order to achieve a truly global debate that can push forward our understanding of democratic decay, breakdown and renewal.
Policy Leaders
The Roundtable includes speakers from the policy, political, and development fields, from (or working in) Australia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the USA. Some speakers, like Dr Shireen Morris, are active in both the academic and political arenas.
Rising Voices
The Roundtable gathers doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from across the world, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Italy, Poland, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.
